The Magical Land – Part 3

“Boys and girls, we’re in big trouble and we failed to solve it. May I request for your help?” the beaver begged.

“Sure, but first may I know what your trouble is?” Damon asked politely.

“This trouble has lasted for nearly a year. An evil and cruel tree monster has appeared. He catches live animals to be his slaves.

Those who were caught suffered a lot!” the beaver cried anxiously.

The kids didn’t believe that. Instead, they requested the beaver to help them get back.

The beaver didn’t want them to leave. So, he pleaded them to stay behind and said,

“One characteristic of the tree monster was that he was scared of human-being, so you’re the only one who can help us.”

He looked so sincere and miserable that Lucy believed him and begged her friends to stay behind. They promised to help finally.

After that, the sea beavers showed them the way to the home of the tree monster.

Since the kids had been taking archery class for one year, they were confident that what they learned could help them to kill the tree monster. So they rushed back to the Earth and brought along their bows and arrows as weapons.

They walked along a long, winding path. When they reached the home of the tree monster, it was already nighttime.

Peeping through the window, they saw that the monster was sleeping soundly. Seeing that this was the best chance, Damon and Howard pulled their own bow backward at the same time and shot the arrows towards the tree monster. One arrow pierced through his chest and another one entered his forehead.

“Ouch,” the tree monster screamed in great pain and blood flowing out from his wounds. In a few seconds, he died.

After the death of the tree monster, all the captured animals were released and they enjoyed freedom again. The sea beavers, together with the animals celebrated the day happily. They thanked the four kids gratefully and gave them some fresh strawberries as presents.

“The entrance back to your world will be closed soon.  Therefore, please hurry back,” the sea beaver said.

Finally, the kids went back to the kitchen. To their surprise, they found that the actual time on Earth had passed only fifteen minutes. So they continued to bake their cake happily and put the fresh fruit on top of the cake.  The cake tasted delicious!
